Q: What did you do prior to becoming a recruiter?
A: Many years
ago I worked as a bookkeeper and later I worked in sales.
Q: When did you get into recruiting (xx, xx,
xxxx)?
A: I got started
in recruiting in 1986
Q: Why did you become a recruiter?
A. I moved to
Seattle, WA from Lexington, KY and I was looking for a job. I was offered
a job at Snelling & Snelling and worked there for one year. I started
at Sales Consultants in Fe. 1987.
Q: If you went out on your own as a recruiter what
prompted that decision?
A: I come from
a family of entrepreneurs, and I knew I wanted to work for myself. I left
Sales Consultants the end of Dec. 1992. I would have left earlier, but my
husband died in 1990, so I stayed longer than I had planned
Q: Who were your role models and are
you mentoring others now?
A: I always looked
at Alan Horowitz & Ray Smuland as role models - that's because they made
the most money. Ha-ha.
Q: If you were asked what your job title is,
how would you respond?
A: Executive Recruiter.
Q: Is your primary job function sales
driven or recruiting driven?
A: Both - on a
50-50 basis.
Q: Why did you join USRC and what prompts you to continue
to be a member?
A: I LIKE HAVING A LARGE
POOL OF RECRUITERS TO REACH OUT TO FOR HELP. I FIND THAT I DEPEND ON THIS
GROUP MORE AND MORE.
